Candle Care
Get the most from your Fox and Flame candle
All of my candles are hand crafted and made in small batches. They are made from vegetable wax, fine fragrance oils, and wooden or cotton wicks. Here are some tips to get the best from your candle:
- Before burning the candle ensure the cotton wick is trimmed to no more than 5mm.
- Remove charred wood from wooden wicks, this will keep the flame to the right size.
- If you do not remove charred wood from wooden wicks the flame may not stay lit.
- The container may get hot. Always burn the candle on a heatproof surface, such as a drinks coaster.
- Always burn your candle until the surface of the wax is fully melted all the way across, this will prevent tunnelling. However, NEVER burn a candle for more than 4 hours.
- Never leave a lit candle unattended. A burning candle should be kept out of reach of children and/or pets.
- Keep a lit candle away from drafts & flammable items.
- Never touch a burning flame.
- The surface of the wax may look mottled and/or pitted after the candle has been burned and the wax has cooled. This is 100% normal for vegetable wax candles.
